About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate Health Coach to join our multidisciplinary team in Christchurch. This part-time role involves working 28 hours a week across two practices. The Health Coach will play a vital role in helping patients and their whanau (families) gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to manage their health and wellbeing effectively.
In this role, you will support patients and their families in setting health goals, managing long-term conditions, and connecting them with appropriate community resources and healthcare providers. As an integral member of our general practice team, you will work directly with whaiora (those in search of wellbeing) to enhance their mental health and overall wellbeing.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Experience in health, with a preference for mental health, specifically in motivating and supporting individuals to improve their physical health and wellbeing.
- A minimum of a relevant level 4 qualification in health and wellbeing.
- Strong ability to connect with diverse individuals and families from various backgrounds and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills, complemented by a flexible, positive, and adaptable attitude.
- Capability to adhere to evidence-based models and practices.
- Ability to manage your workload effectively while working both independently and collaboratively within a busy general practice environment.
- Willingness to engage with groups as well as provide one-on-one support.
