About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at the Hillmorton Health Campus in Christchurch. This permanent part-time position offers 20 hours of work per week, primarily from 4 PM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday, with some weekend shifts.
As part of our fast-paced team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the Hillmorton Health Campus. Our cleaning services operate 365 days a year, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for our patients and their families. The hourly rate for this position starts at $27.80, in accordance with the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Completing all cleaning tasks to a high standard
- Ensuring that daily schedules and task lists are accomplished within set time frames
- Collaborating with fellow cleaners to complete tasks efficiently
- Aligning service requirements with clinical needs
- Maintaining cleaning equipment and operating it according to specifications
- Using the correct chemicals and dilutions for cleaning tasks
Requirements
We are looking for reliable, hardworking, and flexible candidates who are passionate about maintaining cleanliness in our facilities. This role will suit individuals who want to contribute to creating a hygienic and safe environment for our patients and their families.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high level of patient confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills

- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective time management skills
- Previous experience as a cleaner, particularly in a healthcare setting, is preferred but not essential
