About the Role
In this position, you will report directly to the Service Manager. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools, as well as performing routine maintenance, service, and inspections to ensure optimal performance of our trucks. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, mentor apprentices, and continually enhance your skills.
This role requires a commitment of at least 40 hours per week, including a rostered Saturday. Additionally, there will be an expectation to participate in after-hours callouts on a rostered basis, and you should be flexible regarding travel for work and training as needed.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks
- A strong commitment to safety and a proactive mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively
- Ideally, a Class 5 license (we can assist you in obtaining this)
- NZQA qualifications in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment
- Reliability and a willingness to contribute to the team
