About the Role
Due to our significant growth and the need to better serve our valued clients, we are seeking a full-time Field Services Technician. This position will be based in our Wellington office and will cover the greater region.
In this role, you will report to the Operations Supervisor for the NZ Maintenance Program and work alongside a skilled team. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of both fixed and mobile speed camera systems in the field. This position requires regular regional travel, working at heights, and troubleshooting complex technology, merging mechanical precision with software and networking problem-solving skills. Your contributions will be vital to maintaining Verra Mobility’s reputation as a leader in road safety and supporting the success of our NZ Field Operations team.
This full-time role involves working across a predetermined roster that includes weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and occasionally after-hours for vehicle-based field maintenance tasks as well as office-based compliance and systems support.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Install, commission, and maintain Verra Mobility’s road safety systems both onsite and in the field, ensuring all activities adhere to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Work flexibly according to a set roster, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays, while regularly traveling across the region and occasionally within the APAC area.
- Conduct accurate fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and system rectification, while completing detailed documentation and maintenance reports in line with service level agreements.
- Operate professionally and collaboratively within the APAC Operations team, contributing to meetings, training, and fostering a positive, values-driven work environment.
- Communicate clearly and customer-focused with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, managing and owning your assigned responsibilities independently.
- Maintain all company property, including vehicles and tools, to a high standard, actively support workplace health and safety practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
We are looking for a technically proficient professional who meets the following criteria:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in electronics, IT, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, as well as supporting network configurations (LAN/WAN), cabling, and on-site installations.
- Comfort working with bespoke or in-house developed technology, and ideally hold Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certifications.
- A full, unrestricted New Zealand Driver Licence and a clean driving record, with the ability to meet all pre-employment requirements, including medical, drug and alcohol testing, and police checks.
We will provide a company-owned vehicle for work-related travel and commuting from home to work locations.
