    Job Summary About the Company We invite you to join the team at Spark Arena, Auckland’s premier 12,000-seat venue dedicated to sports and entertainment. About the Role We are seeking a Venue Technician (Electrical Apprentice) who will gain hands-on, practical experience while working alongside seasoned professionals. In this role, you will support various aspects of our operations, including lighting, power systems, HVAC, and scoreboard operations. You will have the opportunity to work on both event days and non-event days, learning the intricacies of live event technology, facility maintenance, and electrical systems in one of New Zealand’s most iconic venues. Additionally, you will begin your New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Trade Level 4) within six months of starting. What You Will Be Doing Operations & Events - Assist with venue lighting, power, and air conditioning requirements for live shows and events. - Monitor and maintain electrical and facility systems. - Set up follow spots, scoreboards, and other technical systems. - Collaborate closely with production teams and touring crews. - Support the delivery of safe and efficient event-day operations. Maintenance & Training - Learn from experienced electricians and technicians. - Help manage regular testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment. - Assist with fault finding and repair of systems, including fire, plumbing, HVAC, and audio. - Track power usage, emergency lighting compliance, and building services maintenance. - Gain exposure to facility asset management systems and building management systems. What We Are Looking For We do not require formal qualifications; however, a genuine interest in the events industry, a keen attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential. You should be: - Hardworking and reliable. - Comfortable with heights and hands-on work. - Interested in technical systems and their functioning. - Willing to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed. - A team player who is excited to be part of something significant.
