About the Role
We are excited to announce a full-time permanent position for a Chiller Technician based in Auckland. In this role, you will report to the Technical Coordinator and be an essential part of our team of professional service technicians. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct operational, maintenance, and repair work on commercial chillers and HVAC equipment throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Performing both planned and unplanned service, maintenance, and commissioning of various Trane chiller and heat pump equipment, including air handling units and unitary air conditioning systems.
- Completing all required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participating in the after-hours standby duty roster.
- Fostering and maintaining professional relationships with technicians and apprentices while demonstrating the ability to work effectively in pairs and smaller teams.
- Adhering to all safety, company, and statutory policies and procedures.
- Actively participating in company-sponsored training and service meetings.
- Facilitating on-site training for other technicians and apprentices as needed, while supervising work performed by an assigned apprentice.
- Generating new client leads for small service repairs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we ideally seek candidates who possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC chillers.
- A valid full Driver's License, in compliance with company insurance requirements.
- Experience in A/C maintenance and installation across various systems.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment police vetting check, due to the nature of our clients in correctional and educational facilities.
- Technical competence with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive and proactive approach to safety.
Benefits
This position offers an hourly rate between $40 and $55, with overtime compensation at time and a half. You will have the opportunity to connect with other technicians in a supportive environment, a chance for an immediate start, and a company vehicle will be provided.
