About the Role
We are seeking a General Surgeon with Upper GI training and experience to join our dedicated team in the Department of General Surgery. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, serving as maternity cover at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park. In this role, you will be responsible for surgical assessment and treatment in the area of General Surgery.
About the Team/Service/Location
Middlemore Hospital is a major tertiary teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Auckland School of Medicine, serving a diverse population of over 500,000 in South and East Auckland. Our team is committed to patient-centered care, addressing the significant challenges faced by our community through a collaborative and collegial approach.
As part of our General Surgery department, you will have the opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary settings, working alongside various specialties to provide the best possible care for our patients. This role will enable you to liaise with different teams within the hospital, enhancing your professional experience while addressing a wide range of surgical conditions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have relevant training and experience in Upper GI and general surgery. You must be eligible for Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. You can verify your eligibility for registration through the Medical Council's self-assessment tool.
