About the Role We are excited to offer a permanent position for a Senior Process Technician to join our team at our Dunsandel manufacturing wet mix plant. In this role, you will operate our highly automated facility to transform milk and other ingredients into value-added products. You will be responsible for meeting production processing requirements, as well as engaging in plant and process problem-solving, cleaning, and conducting plant walks and inspections. Our shift schedule is designed to provide flexibility and promote work-life balance, consisting of four days off between shifts. You will work on a rotational roster comprising two days, two nights, and four days off, with shifts lasting 12.5 hours. Key Responsibilities - Operate critical manufacturing equipment within designated running parameters - Ensure all products are manufactured to specifications and delivered right the first time - Maintain a high-quality manufacturing environment - Adhere to Synlait’s Quality and Safety Principles - Follow good documentation practices - Investigate production, safety, and quality issues to determine root causes - Understand and apply IWS (Integrated Work System) principles - Manage time effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment - Communicate effectively and demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn To succeed in this role, you will need to be proactive in delivering processing requirements and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Skills and Experience We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating Sterilizers and Wet Process equipment, along with a strong technical background. You should be capable of troubleshooting mechanical issues while optimizing efficiency and product quality. - Well-developed problem-solving and fault-finding skills - A minimum of 2 years of experience in the dairy, food, or another relevant manufacturing industry - Applicants from outside New Zealand will only be considered if they have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
