About the Role We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for an entry-level Mechanical Trades Assistant within one of the country's highest performing service departments. This permanent, full-time position is based at our Power Farming Canterbury branch in Rolleston. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a vital role in the assembly, repair, and refurbishment of new and used tractors, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment. Your responsibilities will include: - Renovating, refurbishing, and maintaining machinery and equipment accepted for service - Supporting the service department as needed in your regular responsibilities - Utilizing computers to access service and parts information, as well as downloading data from onboard computers in heavy machinery - Dismantling and rebuilding machine components to manufacturer specifications - Ensuring that all administrative functions are completed accurately and on time - Collaborating with other departments to meet production and workflow deadlines Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A qualification in automotive heavy engineering or diesel mechanics - Strong diagnostic skills and a good understanding of electronics and hydraulics to effectively dismantle and rebuild machine components - A proven background in agricultural or construction machinery - Effective communication skills to liaise with individuals at all levels and manage customer expectations - A good level of physical fitness Benefits We offer a supportive environment that fosters growth and development, with multiple career pathways available within our nationwide network or National Support Office.
