About the Role
We are currently seeking casual Support Workers to cover leave for our permanent staff. This role offers you the opportunity to gain valuable experience across various services, including community mobile, respite, residential, and recovery settings. By joining our team, you will have the chance to expand your skill set in a dynamic environment.
Your responsibilities may vary depending on the service you are assigned to.
In our respite service, you will support well-being by providing a listening ear and assisting with on-site activities such as mindfulness, medication management, maintaining a large home, cooking, cleaning, and hosting visiting clinical teams.
In our residential services, you will work alongside whai ora (clients) to help them achieve their goals, which may include fostering independence through assistance with appointments, shopping, cleaning, and medication management.
In our mobile community service, you will provide home-based support, which includes helping individuals with household tasks, attending appointments, grocery shopping, medication management, physical activities, and community engagement.
In our enhanced mobile community teams, you will support whai ora in their homes with personalized packages of support. This may include assisting with daily living activities, medication management, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, gardening, household cleaning, and exercise.
Please note that the hours of work are irregular and are offered as they become available. Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- A current full driver's license
- A current first aid certificate, or the willingness to obtain one
- For our respite services, you must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be currently studying towards this qualification
- Flexibility and availability for varying shifts
