At NZCL, we are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities throughout New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services embody our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live fully, enjoy equal opportunities, and fulfill their aspirations. We believe that our teams are our greatest asset, and we are dedicated to hiring and training the best individuals to join us in our mission.
About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Support Workers to assist rangatahi and tamariki in our disability intensive support services at our Whanganui residential homes. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping our clients live as independently as possible within their communities.
Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, facilitating community outings, promoting integration, and supporting various aspects of daily living. Our goal is to enable our clients to develop confidence and acquire new skills while building friendships with peers and engaging with the community.
Why Us?
At NZCL, we pride ourselves on our commitment to our employees. We offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour. In addition to a supportive work environment, you will enjoy several benefits, including:
- Discounts at PB Tech for online shopping
- Discounted 2Degrees phone and broadband plans
- Discounted Southern Cross Health Insurance
- Opportunities to earn while you learn with free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing
- Access to our Employee Assistance Program for health and wellbeing support whenever needed
What You Will Bring
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and dedicated to maintaining high standards of care. It is essential to demonstrate empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
While experience with disabilities is advantageous, it is not a requirement. Key qualifications include:
- A desire to support rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- Prior experience in assisting others with daily living, preferably those with intellectual or physical disabilities
- Experience working with children or youth is preferred
- A full driver's license and the ability to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training will be provided)
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts as part of a rotating roster, including weekends
At NZCL, we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity and reflects the communities we serve. If you are enthusiastic about providing support to a wide range of individuals and are interested in a career with us, we would love to hear from you.
