About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at the Hamilton village. This position offers more than just kitchen duties; it provides an opportunity to contribute to something meaningful. Every meal you prepare will bring joy, comfort, and nourishment to our residents.
As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating fresh, wholesome meals within a supportive and collaborative environment. Your efforts will help ensure that our residents enjoy nutritious food that promotes their health and wellbeing.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking production meals for our care center, as well as short order meals for the café, according to established menus and dietary requirements.
- Maintaining an "audit-ready" kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan.
- Working closely with kitchen staff, care teams, and management to provide an exceptional dining experience.
This is a permanent part-time position, with a schedule of Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who brings a warm and positive approach to their work, along with the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or residential care setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
- Certification in safe food handling is preferred.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
