About the Role The Transport Manager will play a vital role in overseeing our operations, which includes route planning, driver management, and ensuring compliance with container service expectations and transport regulations. This leadership position is focused on optimizing operational efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and fostering effective team coordination. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport operations to ensure timely deliveries and service efficiency. You will handle receiving orders and bookings, as well as planning and implementing transportation schedules for container deliveries to customers. Your duties will include maintaining business records, preparing operational statements and reports, and coordinating activities related to the arrival and de-hire of containers. You will also manage vehicle dispatch, routing, and scheduling based on service demand. Monitoring transport activities to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards will be essential, along with coordinating vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspection schedules. Maintaining transport and operational records, including delivery reports, budgets, and regulatory compliance, will be part of your responsibilities. You will liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations. Additionally, you will supervise, train, and manage drivers and transport staff, while reviewing operational procedures and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should hold a qualification at NZQF Level 4 or have at least one year of full-time work experience in a transport management or logistics coordination role. We are looking for candidates with excellent organizational and leadership skills, along with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team of drivers. A Class 1 NZ Drivers License is required. This role operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with weekend work available due to operational needs.
