    About the Company New Zealand Blood and Organ Service (NZBS) plays a critical role in ensuring the people of New Zealand have safe, appropriate, and timely access to blood and related services. We are solely responsible for the collection, processing, and distribution of blood and related services throughout the country. Joining our team means becoming part of an organization that truly makes a difference in the community. About the Role We are seeking a Christchurch Logistics Team Leader to join our dedicated team. This position reports to the National Supply Chain Manager in Auckland and is responsible for leading a team of six Logistics Assistants based at the Christchurch Donor Centre. In this role, you will oversee service delivery and act as the key liaison point and frontline representative for our operations. Your responsibilities will encompass two main operational areas: Management of Dispatch Operations You will lead daily operational activities related to the transportation and distribution of blood products from our Christchurch base. This includes ensuring that the right products are available at the right place and at the right time, managing stock movement, overseeing delivery schedules, and fostering strong relationships with other teams and customers. Management of Inwards Goods In this capacity, you will ensure compliance, quality, and safety in a complex, multi-temperature, and highly regulated environment. Your duties will include quality control and inspection of inbound goods, leading stock control processes to ensure accuracy and proper documentation, and effectively managing the stores for fast-moving consumables. About You To excel in this role, you will need outstanding communication skills, along with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to solve problems in a complex environment. Excellent leadership skills are essential as you will guide your team while exemplifying the shared values of NZBS. We are looking for candidates with: - Significant leadership experience, preferably in a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or the medical industry. - Experience in logistics or warehousing, with a solid understanding of dispatch and distribution operations. - The ability to build trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize effectively. - A strong understanding of quality systems and processes, along with health and safety practices. - A hands-on and pragmatic leadership style that enables you to address operational challenges directly.
