About the Role
As a Welder with Extrastaff Limited, you will play a crucial role in our projects by utilizing your expertise in various welding techniques and equipment. We are looking for organized and trustworthy individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship. Due to the nature of our work, candidates should be flexible and willing to travel across the country as needed.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Familiarizing yourself with different welding techniques and equipment
- Working with various metals, hand tools, power tools, specialist welding tools, and heavy machinery
- Igniting torches or activating power supplies to start welding processes
- Operating safety equipment and adhering to safe work practices
- Detecting equipment malfunctions or defective materials and reporting them to supervisors
- Monitoring welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion of materials
- Setting up and operating hand and power tools commonly used in the welding trade
- Analyzing engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan welding operations
- Welding using materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
- Selecting and installing torches, tips, filler rods, and flux according to specifications
- Adjusting gas flow and pressure to achieve desired welding flames
- Guiding flames or electrodes to manipulate metal as needed
- Completing any other duties as assigned

Benefits
We offer competitive pay ranging from a minimum of $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $30.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work each week.
Location
This position may require you to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland. This is a permanent, full-time position.
