About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Asset Information Technician to support our Rangitīkei Roading Maintenance contract. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in various asset management functions, including asset data management, quality control, and system integration.
In this position, you will play a pivotal role in the collection, management, and verification of asset data. You will collaborate closely with field staff and other stakeholders to ensure that our systems and processes related to asset information are efficient, accurate, and current. Your technical expertise will be crucial in implementing data standards and asset management strategies that influence business decisions and enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of asset data while ensuring high-quality standards.
- Assist in setting up hardware and software systems for data collection and provide training for field staff.
- Provide data for asset planning, demand analysis, and maintenance programs.
- Contribute to fault management, ensuring that asset data is current for informed decision-making.
- Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of data improvement plans and implement process improvements for data collection and transfer.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Promote and adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Comply with Zero Harm policies and contribute to environmental and sustainability practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in information technology or a related field is desirable.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in relational databases and data mining.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of asset management principles and IT systems, including data collection tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in driving improvements.
