About the Company
Tradestaff Global is currently looking for experienced Interior Tilers to join our team for an exciting opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the upcoming summer season. This season will run from October 2025 to March 2026, and we are seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals who are ready to embrace a unique working environment.
About the Role
Working in Antarctica presents a remarkable challenge, and we are looking for dedicated team players who are willing to contribute to a large commercial construction project focused on interior fit-out work. The role will involve various tiling tasks, including surface preparation, waterproofing, laying floor and wall tiles, grouting, and ensuring a high-quality finish.
Attention to detail and consistency are crucial, as you will be performing repetitive tasks in a demanding environment. Experience in commercial tiling is essential for this position, and candidates must be prepared for hard work in one of the most isolated yet beautiful locations in the world.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a New Zealand or US citizen with a valid New Zealand or US passport and currently residing and working in New Zealand.
- Must be willing to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations.
- Must possess a Full Class 1 NZ Driver License and have a clean criminal record.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, as well as medical and dental checks.
- Must be prepared to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, with costs covered for testing and flights from outside the Bay of Plenty.
- Must be IT literate, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex paperwork.
Please note that these roles are not 'fly in fly out' positions. You will be staying on-site for an extended period, working long hours, six days a week. Start dates are approximate and contingent upon passing all necessary checks and clearances.
Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, which includes:
- A pay rate of $66.11 per hour, on a contract basis, with payment made fortnightly in NZD for a total of 54 hours per week.
