About the Company Te Whatu Ora Waikato District operates the Plastics Surgery Department at Waikato Hospital, which serves as a major tertiary referral center in New Zealand. Our hospital is dedicated to providing specialized and emergency healthcare to the Te Manawa Taki and Waikato areas, catering to a patient catchment of approximately 1,007,000 individuals. We take pride in being the only major hospital in the country that offers all surgical specialties on a single campus and serves as the principal trauma hospital for the region. About the Role We are inviting applications for the non-SET Registrar positions for the 2025/2026 training year. This full-time role is aimed at individuals who have completed at least two years of postgraduate hospital experience, including a diverse range of surgical exposure. As a registrar at Waikato Hospital, you will have the opportunity to gain extensive experience across various surgical settings within a large tertiary environment. Our training program is designed to provide excellent supervision, as well as opportunities for career planning and development. This role is an ideal chance to explore the breadth of surgical specialties before selecting a specific training pathway. Our hospital features 550 general inpatient beds and conducts over 34,000 surgical procedures annually across 24 operating theatres. Additionally, our emergency department manages an average of 220 presentations each day. Requirements Candidates must have completed two years of postgraduate hospital experience, including varied surgical experience.
