Our Critical Care Unit at Waikato Hospital is committed to excellence, innovation, and the well-being of our patients. We are seeking driven and enthusiastic professionals to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality care.
About the Role
We invite applications for the position of Registrar in the Critical Care team at Waikato Hospital for the 2025/2026 training year. This role is ideal for individuals who have at least three years of clinical experience, including some exposure to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Anaesthetics.

You will also engage in patient transport across the Te Manawa Taki regional hospitals via helicopter, plane, and road.
This role is particularly suited for those training in intensive care or considering this specialty as a future career. The unit is accredited by the College of Intensive Care Medicine (C24), and you will benefit from a supportive environment with experienced specialists and senior registrars. Weekly teaching sessions, which include both formal instruction and bedside teaching, are integral to our training program, with an emphasis on echocardiography.
As a Registrar, you will be expected to work diligently, gaining valuable experience in procedures and enhancing your decision-making skills.
