Permanent, full-time role (1 FTE), Monday to Friday with rostered on-call duties

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Urgent Response Service team at Greenlane Clinical Centre in Epsom. Our service operates 24/7, offering assessment and treatment for individuals requiring urgent psychiatric evaluation within 72 hours. You will be part of a well-established team of dedicated and skilled clinicians.
In this role, you will provide urgent and acute psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with service users, their families and whānau, and carers, as well as our multidisciplinary Urgent Response Service (URS) team. This position is part of the Mental Health Community Acute Service and includes medical leadership responsibilities. You will work closely with the URS Clinical Coordinator and the leadership of the Community Mental Health Service.
The role offers a diverse range of experiences, as you will conduct assessments in various settings, including the Greenlane Clinical Centre, community locations, police custody suites, and the Emergency Department at the main hospital.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, holding a current Annual Practising Certificate or qualifying for one. A Post Graduate qualification in Psychiatry is preferred.
