We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture and our commitment to excellence. About the Role We are currently seeking two skilled fitters to join our team. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive hourly rate of $29.66 to $30.00, depending on your experience and skills. As a fitter, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling fabricated metal components into various metal products, such as structural steel frameworks and parts. You will utilize various machine equipment and metal fitting techniques to ensure the quality and precision of your work. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of duties, including: - Assessing drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and fitting operations - Laying out, positioning, and securing metal parts according to specifications using tools such as straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers - Repairing or replacing worn or broken door parts using hand tools - Checking fabricated parts for precision and removing rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers - Installing hardware or other interior fixtures by fabricating necessary parts or components - Constructing structural components from raw materials - Fitting fabricated parts into structural steel frameworks using measuring and fitting equipment - Assembling fabricated parts to produce tools, machines, and other equipment - Conducting diagnostic testing and replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed - Maintaining a clean work area before and after completing tasks Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria: - A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the industry or a relevant Level 4 qualification - A strong team player who can follow instructions effectively - Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors - Attention to detail with a practical problem-solving ability - A safety-conscious mindset - A positive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment At King-Kong Garage Door Limited, we aim to inspire our team members rather than simply manage them.
