About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as permanent, full-time Support Workers at our Nelson Residential Services. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing a safe and supportive environment where individuals can build confidence, acquire new skills, form friendships, and engage with their community.
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in a variety of activities that support individuals in their daily lives. This includes assisting with personal care, meal preparation, household management tasks, and facilitating recreational activities such as swimming. The role is dynamic and varied, and you will be part of a team that provides 24/7 support. Some shifts may include opportunities for additional sleepover payments.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess the following attributes:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- A full driver's license is essential.
- Initiative and motivation to encourage individuals to achieve their goals.
- An energetic, outgoing personality with the ability to think creatively.
- Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends.
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are crucial, as the people we support come from varied backgrounds with unique needs and interests.
