About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Activities Coordinators to join our team at The Village Palms in Shirley, Christchurch. This role involves supporting our residents in planned activities, helping them maintain active lives, and promoting their overall wellbeing.
There are two permanent, part-time positions available:
Role 1: Friday and Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM
Role 2: Sunday to Tuesday from 11 AM to 4:30 PM
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing an engaging activities program
- Collaborating with families and staff to enhance leisure activities
- Assisting residents in participating in organized events
- Establishing and maintaining a therapeutic environment
- Ensuring the health and safety of our residents
- Driving the village van to transport residents to outdoor activities
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, and outgoing individuals who can think outside the box. A genuine passion for working with the elderly and a desire to make a difference are essential. While prior experience as an Activities Coordinator is preferred, we also welcome applications from experienced Caregivers who are eager to expand their skill set and contribute to a therapeutic environment for our residents.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A current full driver’s license
- A current First Aid Certificate is preferred but not essential
- Experience working with groups of older adults
- Ideally, a qualification in Health and Wellbeing
