About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as permanent, full-time Support Workers in our residential service located in Rangiora. This role primarily involves working night shifts and will focus on providing support to rangatahi and tamariki in our Intensive Support Services.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting the young people who access our services to live as independently as possible within their community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the team to maintain a consistent approach to care
- Supporting rangatahi and tamariki in attending school or accessing educational opportunities
- Monitoring and responding to health concerns while promoting the overall health and well-being of the young individuals
- Aiding rangatahi in setting and achieving their personal goals to enhance their outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine desire to support rangatahi and young people in learning new skills and achieving their objectives
- Previous experience working with youth or rangatahi
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a strong ability to work as part of a team
- A full New Zealand driver’s license
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs
