About the Role We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Maternal Mental Health Perinatal Team in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a major center with access to breathtaking scenery and outdoor adventures, such as kayaking in the Coromandel or exploring the dark sky sanctuary of Great Barrier Island. The Maternal Mental Health team is a multi-disciplinary specialist group that provides assessment and treatment for pregnant women and those with infants up to 12 months old. Your work will primarily focus on the assessment and treatment of pregnant women, while also collaborating with our Whakatupu Ora Infant Mental Health team, which offers assessment and therapy for children aged 0 to 4 years and their caregivers. Regular multidisciplinary team meetings facilitate consultation and collaborative efforts from both teams. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your core clinical activities will include treatment planning and developing culturally relevant recovery-oriented interventions. We seek a professional who has a focus on early intervention, experience working with whānau, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a variety of services and professionals to implement intervention plans. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications: - Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) as a Consultant Psychiatrist - Experience in developing therapeutic relationships with caregivers and infants or children - Ability to work effectively in a diverse community Benefits We offer a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the ASMS MECA Step 1-15, ranging from NZD 185,380 to NZD 267,980.
