Currently, we are looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join us as Support Workers in our residential services located in Christchurch.
About the Role
We are seeking permanent full-time and part-time Support Workers to work closely with, coach, and mentor rangitahi and tamariki in our Intensive Support Services.
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to assist rangitahi and tamariki in living as independently as possible within their community. Your duties will include:
- Collaborating with your team to ensure a consistent approach in support
- Helping rangitahi and tamariki attend school or access educational opportunities
- Observing and responding to health concerns while supporting the overall wellbeing of the young individuals
- Guiding rangitahi and young people in working towards their goals and improving their outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine desire to support rangitahi and young people in learning new skills and achieving positive outcomes
- Previous experience working with rangitahi or young individuals
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as a team player
- A full New Zealand driver's license
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
