About the Role
We have full-time, permanent positions available for Carpenters across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project demand. Our roles offer a competitive pay range from a minimum of $26.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects, with all necessary PPE and tools provided.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to perform various carpentry tasks, including:
- Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
- Following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials with appropriate tools.
- Installing structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware, using carpentry tools.
- Verifying the trueness of structures using a plumb bob and level.
- Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, and other wooden fixtures.
- Selecting and ordering lumber or other required materials.
- Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks or props.
- Inspecting structures for damage and performing necessary repairs.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard using various techniques.
- Preparing cost estimates for clients or employers.
- Performing minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing work as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant carpentry experience or a relevant qualification.
- Strong time management skills and a commitment to learning and developing your skills in the industry.
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
- A friendly demeanor and excellent work ethic.
- Reliability and a hardworking attitude.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed in the Waikato region, we are recruiting for positions that may require deployment across all regions of New Zealand, including both the North and South Islands. We invite applicants from any of these regions and expect candidates to be willing to travel or relocate as necessary. The company will cover relocation costs.
