    About the Company At The People's Project, we are committed to making homelessness in Hamilton rare, brief, and non-recurring. As we expand our team, we are looking for dedicated individuals who share our vision of ending homelessness for every person we serve. Together, we can ensure that no one has to face homelessness again. About the Role We are currently seeking a Specialist Case Manager to join our team in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton). This position is a full-time role, comprising 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are open to discussing flexible start and finish times between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM. In this role, you will work closely with individuals experiencing homelessness, improving their living conditions and providing support. Reporting to your Team Leader, you will leverage your background in health or social services to offer manaakitanga (care and support) to tangata whai ora (people seeking wellness). Your work will be guided by the Housing First approach, focusing on securing stable housing and connecting individuals with services that promote full social inclusion. You will collaborate with your team, tangata whai ora, and landlords to create tailored housing and support plans, while providing ongoing assistance to help sustain tenancies. Requirements We are looking for candidates who are passionate about social justice and believe that everyone deserves a place to call home. You should have a talent for connecting with people, combining street smarts with compassion, and the ability to effectively link individuals to necessary resources and services. A solid understanding of the system and how to navigate it for optimal outcomes will be essential in this role. In addition, you will need: - Proven experience working in frontline health, mental health, addiction, or social service sectors, or a relevant tertiary qualification - A basic understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi, Reo Māori, and Tikanga, along with a desire to learn and grow in this area - Experience engaging with Māori and Pasifika communities is highly valued - Good physical fitness - A current full and clean New Zealand driver’s license - An understanding of harm-reduction and Housing First approaches is advantageous, though training will be provided This role is classified under the Social Worker pay spine.
