About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team at Waikato Hospital. In this role, you will provide essential support within the cardiac catheterization lab, assisting a multidisciplinary team in caring for patients undergoing various cardiac procedures. We are looking for someone who is flexible, possesses strong prioritization skills, and is able to manage their time effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and support patient flow, assisting with tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for both patients and staff.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include KiwiSaver contributions (if eligible), opportunities for professional development, and wellness support.
About the Team
Waikato Hospital serves as a tertiary referral center for the Waikato district. Our multidisciplinary team is involved in a wide array of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. With four labs and a 14-bed unit, we provide pre- and post-procedure care to our patients every day of the week from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
About You
We are looking for candidates with:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an acute environment within a New Zealand hospital.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, along with a solution-focused attitude.
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
