About the Role We are seeking a skilled social worker to join our multidisciplinary team at the Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre, located within Waikato Hospital. In this role, you will work collaboratively to support tangata whaiora in achieving their maximum mental health potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a varied caseload, where you will coordinate care, provide therapeutic interventions, and advocate for the psycho-social needs of our clients. The salary for this role will be determined based on experience and aligned with the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical Collective Agreement. About the Team The Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre is a dynamic acute mental health inpatient unit. Each day presents unique challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. You will have the chance to build strong relationships with whanau and ensure that tangata whaiora can return safely to their communities. About Hamilton Hamilton, the home of Waikato Hospital, is a vibrant city located alongside the scenic Waikato River. The city offers a perfect blend of nature and culture, featuring attractions such as the stunning Hamilton Gardens, which showcases themed gardens from Italy to Asia, and the Waikato Museum, where you can explore the region's rich history. Hamilton also hosts the Hamilton Zoo, where visitors can walk through an aviary filled with native birds. The city is lively, with a variety of cafes, restaurants, and bars. It is known for its events such as rugby, cricket, and the renowned National Agricultural Fieldays and Balloons over Waikato festival. About You We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills: - Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth. - Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and applying Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly in healthcare settings. - Registration with the Social Workers Board of New Zealand. - A current full driver's license. - A passion for making a difference in the lives of tangata whaiora and their whanau. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. - Skills in comprehensive mental health assessment and risk management. - Demonstrated ability in effective documentation of clinical assessments and interventions, including formulation.
