About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Support Staff member to join our team in Avonhead, Christchurch. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for nine residents in a warm, home-like environment.
Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with everyday activities such as shopping, meal preparation, household chores, personal care, and community outings. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to establish trusted relationships and provide compassionate, person-centered support that is tailored to each individual’s needs.

It is important to mention that while Hawksbury is accredited to hire staff on an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), we currently do not have a Job Check for this position and cannot support applicants with the visa process.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, ideally, you will possess an NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who have:
- A positive attitude towards supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- A full New Zealand driver's license (essential)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
