About the Role We are currently seeking a Clinical Manager for Social Work to join our team at the Burwood Campus. This is a permanent full-time position, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Allied Health Older Persons Health Rehabilitation (OPHR). Your responsibilities will include providing day-to-day leadership, operational management, and strategic planning to ensure the delivery of a sustainable, high-quality service that aligns with our organizational goals. You will also be responsible for offering clinical leadership to the social work profession, with a focus on workforce development, safe and high-quality care, and outcome-focused practice. Key responsibilities will include: - Providing clinical leadership to Social Workers across our OPHR service, offering guidance, advice, and feedback. - Managing operational service delivery for the Burwood inpatient Social Work service. - Ensuring consistently safe and high-quality social work services across all clinical areas. - Overseeing workforce development programs and professional development planning. - Conducting clinical audits, recruiting new social workers, and managing the professional development of the team. - Liaising with tertiary providers, training institutions, and ensuring strong relationships with Social Work leaders within our organization and external partners. - Maintaining a clinical caseload within your designated clinical area. - Promoting a positive culture of continuous improvement in Allied Health services, aligned with our strategy and organizational priorities. About You We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader with a robust clinical background in social work and a passion for enhancing outcomes for tangata whaiora and their whanau. You should possess strategic thinking skills, a commitment to cultural responsiveness, and a dedication to developing high-performing teams and future leaders. Your ability to lead change, manage complexity, and foster collaboration will be essential for your success in this role. To be considered for this position, you will need to demonstrate: - A recognized qualification in social work (minimum bachelor’s degree), current New Zealand registration, and an Annual Practising Certificate, along with at least five years of clinical experience in the field. - Proven leadership and management experience, including team development, workforce planning, and performance management. - Strong capabilities in strategic planning, policy development, and financial management. - Experience in clinical supervision, teaching, and staff professional development. - Knowledge of New Zealand Health and Disability sector standards, the Privacy Act, and case management practices. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Patient Management Systems. - Familiarity with change management and quality improvement methodologies, with a track record of leading service transformation initiatives. - Cultural responsiveness and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, focusing on achieving equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific Peoples. - Excellent communication, delegation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead through influence and collaboration. - Resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence, along with a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth. - Experience in both inpatient and community settings is highly desirable. - A postgraduate qualification (or a commitment to obtain one) in leadership or clinical practice.
