    About the Company At Odyssey House Christchurch, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment and support services for individuals dealing with challenges related to alcohol and drugs, mental health, and associated issues. Our mission is to empower individuals, particularly youth, to overcome their circumstances and lead fulfilling lives. About the Role We are currently seeking a motivated and supportive individual to join our Youth Residential Programme in Burnside, Christchurch. This role involves working with youth in a residential setting for 32 hours per fortnight. Our program supports young people for periods of 3 to 4 months, providing them with education, treatment, and recreational activities. In this position, you will collaborate with another staff member to engage youth in scheduled recreational activities and daily routines. Responsibilities will include preparing meals and attending various activities, so it is essential that you are ready to actively participate and contribute positively to the program. Requirements We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - Ability to work effectively with at-risk youth - Experience in youth work or relevant experience in alcohol and drug treatment, or progress towards a related qualification - Capability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner - Strong communication and organizational skills - Availability to work weekends, with shifts scheduled as follows: - Week 1: Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM - Week 2: Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Sunday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM - A clean and full New Zealand driver's license Benefits Joining our team means becoming part of a well-respected organization that makes a significant difference in the lives of youth in our community.
