    Location: Hutt Hospital Radiology Department Contract: Permanent full-time - 1 FTE Roster: Rotating shifts with start times at 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, and 12:00 PM About the Company At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strive to serve all New Zealanders. About the Role We are excited to invite applications for a position in our Radiology Services at Hutt Valley Hospital. Our Radiology Department, part of the Hospital Operations Group for the Capital, Coast, and Hutt Valley District, serves the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa communities. We handle a diverse range of clinical referrals, including those from regional Plastic Surgery and Rheumatology services, as well as from two Emergency Departments. Our services include X-Rays, Ultrasounds, MRI, and CT scans. Health Care Assistants (HCAs) primarily work in the CT and Ultrasound areas, assisting with workflow and patient care. About the Team/Service Location Our department consists of approximately 80 dedicated professionals who foster a friendly and collaborative work environment. We prioritize delivering the best possible care to our patients. Our team includes Radiologists, Sonographers, Medical Imaging Technologists, MRI Technologists, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and Administration/Bookings staff, along with Data/IT/Quality personnel. We promote a supportive workplace culture focused on ongoing professional development and well-being, with a strong commitment to quality improvements and building constructive relationships with our clinical colleagues. Additionally, our Radiology Department holds International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accreditation. About You As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing and midwifery teams, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, Registered Nurse (RN), or Midwife (RM) to meet patient and client needs. Essential Qualifications / Accreditations / Skills and Experience: - Health Assistance Level 3 or equivalent, or a willingness to complete this within specified timeframes - Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable - A friendly, caring, and empathetic demeanor - Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in emergencies - Capability to follow instructions accurately - Strong communication skills - Comfort in dealing with sickness and distressing medical situations - Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi - Adherence to the district values - Dedication to delivering an exemplary standard of care - Innovation and critical thinking skills - Commitment to sustainable practices Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we believe in "the weaving of wellness."
