About the Role We are seeking an experienced restaurant manager to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with our staff to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service and dining experience. Your responsibilities will include coordinating daily operations, planning menus, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have at least two years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, a New Zealand Register Diploma Level 5 qualification may substitute for the required experience, provided that any overseas qualifications are comparable to New Zealand standards. A strong knowledge of Thai food ingredients is essential, as we take food allergies very seriously. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including: - Planning menus in consultation with chefs - Organizing and coordinating special functions - Overseeing daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations - Managing the purchasing and pricing of goods in line with the budget - Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions - Controlling operational costs and identifying opportunities to reduce waste - Estimating future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products - Regularly reviewing product quality and researching new suppliers - Ensuring compliance with health regulations while maintaining clean and functional dining facilities - Delivering superior service to maximize customer satisfaction - Responding efficiently to customer complaints - Selecting, training, and supervising waiting and kitchen staff - Organizing and managing shifts for staff - Promoting the restaurant within the local community - Implementing policies and protocols to ensure smooth restaurant operations - Assisting with reservations, greeting guests, and taking orders Benefits This is a full-time, permanent position with a wage of $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience and skills. We offer weekly payment, along with holiday pay and sick leave in accordance with legal requirements. The position is based at 96 Harrison Street, Allenton, Ashburton 7700, and you will work a roster of 5 to 6 days each week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours (up to a maximum of 48 hours).
