About the Role
We are currently seeking casual Support Workers to cover leave for our permanent team in Christchurch. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across various services, including community mobile support, respite care, residential services, and recovery programs. As a casual Support Worker, hours will be offered as they become available, allowing for a flexible work schedule.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are available for PM shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, as well as overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks, which may include:
- Assisting with goal setting and building confidence
- Supporting individuals in securing employment or housing
- Helping with budgeting and independent daily living skills
- Attending appointments and advocating for clients
- Facilitating connections with the community
- Providing medication support as needed
- Assisting clients with their daily routines
- Maintaining the residence and supporting household tasks, which may include cleaning, cooking, and gardening
- Being prepared to do whatever it takes to support our clients
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Availability to work all shifts (AM, PM, and awake nights) as required, on any day of the week across all services
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or an equivalent qualification. For more information on equivalency, please visit the Ministry of Health website.
- Willingness to complete a comprehensive first aid certificate
- A full driver's license
- A strong understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti Waitangi
