About the Role We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Cook for our Christchurch Residential Services. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team devoted to helping individuals with disabilities exercise choice and independence in their lives. At NZCL, we offer a diverse range of support services for people with disabilities and their families. As a Cook, your responsibilities will include: - Preparing daily meals for the individuals we support, in accordance with their service plans. - Conducting food satisfaction surveys as directed by the Service Manager. - Adhering to established schedules for cooking, baking, sanitation, and related tasks, including meal preparation for future service. - Enhancing the dining area during your shift, including updating the visual menu board. - Encouraging and supporting individuals in meal preparation, promoting their independence as outlined in their support plans. - Planning menus that meet nutritional and budgetary requirements, in consultation with family members, doctors, and health advisors. - Establishing and maintaining menus that comply with nutritional guidelines and budget constraints. Requirements We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess the following qualifications: - A National Certificate in Hospitality (Basic Cookery) (Level 3). - 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment or aged care facility. - Experience cooking for large groups. - Ability to work within a defined budget. - Familiarity with IDDSI standards. - A full driver's license is essential. - Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a roster, including weekends. - Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are crucial, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests. Benefits We offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour for this position.
