About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as Support Workers in our residential service located in Christchurch. We have openings for both permanent full-time and part-time positions. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and coaching rangatahi (youth) and tamariki (children) within our Intensive Support Services.
The primary responsibility of a Support Worker is to assist rangatahi and tamariki in living as independently as possible within their communities. Your duties will include:
- Collaborating with team members to ensure a consistent approach in supporting young people
- Assisting tamariki and rangatahi in accessing education and attending school
- Observing and addressing health concerns while promoting the overall well-being of the young individuals
- Supporting rangatahi in setting and achieving their personal goals and improving their outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine desire to support rangatahi and young people in developing new skills and achieving their goals
- Previous experience working with young people or in a related field
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creative thinking and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- A valid full New Zealand driver's license
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
