About the Role
We are currently seeking doctors with experience or an interest in addictions to join our Mental Health and Addiction Services. There are varied full-time equivalent (FTE) positions available. The successful candidates will be part of a dedicated team of 12 psychiatrists and will receive support from a diverse range of professionals, including nursing staff, counselors, and psychologists within the Addiction service.
The Taranaki District Mental Health Addiction Services provide a comprehensive range of specialist services throughout the region, including New Plymouth City and the rural lifestyle population in South Taranaki (Stratford/Hawera). Our services encompass:
- Acute Services: A 23-bed inpatient unit (15 adult beds, 4 beds for Mental Health Services for Older People, and 4 beds for Intensive Psychiatric Care), Assessment and Brief Care (Crisis Team), and a Co-Response Team.
- Adult Mental Health: Two community teams and additional services such as maternal mental health, eating disorders, and early intervention.
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
- Mental Health Services for Older People.
- Addiction Services.
