About the Role
As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care, which includes consultation, diagnosis, and management of general orthopaedic, trauma, and arthroplasty patients. Your role will involve performing surgical interventions with precision and a strong commitment to patient safety.
You will also participate in the on-call roster to manage acute orthopaedic emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Additionally, you will engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the clinical governance of the department. Teaching and mentoring junior doctors and medical students will be a key aspect of your role, along with staying updated on advancements in orthopaedic care and introducing innovative practices to our department.

Taranaki Hospital is seeking a committed and experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our dynamic team. About You
We are looking for an ideal applicant who possesses:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons or an equivalent qualification
- Eligibility for an Annual Practising Certificate with a vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery from the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Proven expertise in both trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues
- A commitment to teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous professional development
