About the Role
We are seeking a skilled technician to join our workshop team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of heavy forklifts, reach stackers, and other critical materials handling equipment within the rail industry. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that rail operations run smoothly through a variety of tasks, including scheduled maintenance, breakdown support, and equipment overhauls.
Your Week Will Include:
- Performing routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing breakdowns
- Conducting repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Utilizing our systems to order parts and maintain job records
- Communicating effectively with site contacts and adhering to safety compliance standards
- Providing on-call support as part of a rostered schedule
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Mechanical Trade Certificate or a similar qualification
- A minimum of three years' experience working with heavy vehicles or plant equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems
- A valid New Zealand driver's licence (a forklift licence is a bonus)
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
