About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Cardiology Fellow to join our dedicated team at North Shore Hospital. This part-time position presents an exciting opportunity to enhance your expertise in cardiology care and research while playing a vital role in delivering high-quality cardiology services.
As a Cardiology Fellow, you will:
- Provide independent cardiology support for patients in the Emergency Department (ED) and Assessment and Diagnostic Unit (ADU).
- Manage outpatient cardiology clinics, including patient assessments, follow-ups, and care coordination for referred or discharged patients.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and reviews in the ADU.
- Dedicate time to conducting research in collaboration with our local research unit, contributing to publications in cardiology innovations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and ward referrals at both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
Our Cardiology Service at Waitemata District offers comprehensive care, including cardiac MRI, diagnostic angiography, and coronary interventions at North Shore Hospital. Our team comprises 18 specialist cardiology consultants, supported by junior doctors, advanced trainees, research nurses, sonographers, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who:
- Holds a cardiology FRACP or an equivalent qualification.
- Has or is eligible for vocational/provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
