About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Cardiology Fellow to join our dedicated team at North Shore Hospital, part of Te Whatu Ora Waitemata. This part-time position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in cardiology while contributing to innovative research and delivering high-quality cardiology services.
In this role, you will have the responsibility to:
- Provide independent cardiology support for patients in the Emergency Department (ED) and Assessment and Diagnostic Unit (ADU) at North Shore Hospital.
- Manage outpatient cardiology clinics, which includes conducting patient assessments, follow-ups, and coordinating care for referred or discharged patients.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and reviews within the ADU.
- Dedicate time to conducting research in collaboration with our local research unit, contributing to publications in cardiology innovations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and handle ward referrals at both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
Our Cardiology Service at Waitemata District provides comprehensive care, including cardiac MRI, diagnostic angiography, and coronary interventions. Our team comprises 18 specialist cardiology consultants, supported by junior doctors, advanced trainees, research nurses, sonographers, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
- Holds a cardiology FRACP or an equivalent qualification.
- Has or is eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
