About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver with a strong knowledge of the Canterbury area and expertise in metro driving. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for picking up and delivering machinery in and around Christchurch. Previous experience as a transporter operator is essential, as this is not an entry-level position. You should be proficient in operating various machines for loading and unloading, and possess a solid understanding of restraint systems and relevant laws.
Occasionally, you may also be required to perform some digger work or assist the team by driving a tipper truck.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- NZ Citizenship or NZ Residency
- Road ranger experience
- BESS ticket
- Class 5 Licence with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Ability to self-manage and efficiently plan routes and deliveries
- A clean driving record
- Residence in Christchurch or surrounding areas; local candidates will be prioritized unless there are exceptional circumstances
- Excellent communication skills
- Good physical fitness level
- Awareness of health and safety protocols
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- A sense of humour is appreciated
