We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and safety, and we are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
We are hiring Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment throughout New Zealand. These positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project demand. This role is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in structural reinforcement, who are capable of interpreting detailed drawings and are open to relocating or traveling as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting engineering plans and drawings to accurately cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh.
- Tying rebar using the correct techniques for various reinforcement systems.
- Placing and securing steel within formwork prior to concrete pours.
- Complying with health, safety, and quality standards on-site.
- Collaborating effectively within large construction teams under tight deadlines.
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- A minimum of three years of steel fixing or reinforcing steel experience, either in New Zealand or internationally.
- The ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Strong physical fitness and a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
Although this role is listed in Marlborough, we have opportunities available across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
We invite applicants from any of these regions, and candidates must be willing to travel or relocate as needed. Relocation costs will be covered by the company.
