About the Role We are currently seeking a Clinical Lead to join our skilled team and provide both clinical and operational leadership for the Speech Language Therapists within our Allied Health (Adults) service. This full-time, fixed-term position (12 months) is ideal for a New Zealand Registered Speech Language Therapist looking to engage closely with clinical practice while developing leadership skills. In this role, you will collaborate with Advanced Clinicians and Senior staff to deliver Speech Language Therapy services for adult inpatient and outpatient services at Auckland City Hospital. You will report directly to the Service Clinical Director, Allied Health Services, and will be well-supported by the Director, fellow Clinical Leads, and the Professional Leader of Speech Language Therapy. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and performance of our department while supporting a small clinical caseload. About the Team/Service/Location Our Speech Language Therapy team is composed of passionate and supportive clinicians dedicated to advocating for our patients and enhancing clinical outcomes within the community. The team includes 16.2 FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings. For more information about living and working in Auckland, please refer to our resources. About You We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following skills and attributes: - A New Zealand Registered Speech Language Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate. - Previous leadership experience in Allied Health is advantageous. - Appropriate supervision training is preferred. - A demonstrated ability to work at an advanced clinical level in a health environment, with (or working towards) Level 5 competency in tracheostomy management, Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS), and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). - Progress toward or completion of a relevant clinical or management postgraduate or master's degree, or equivalent. - A comprehensive understanding of the obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with a commitment to supporting equitable outcomes for Māori. - The ability to balance and deliver on the combined demands of quality, operations, and business management through effective leadership and delegation. - Highly developed computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft applications. - Strong time management, flexibility, prioritization, and organization skills. - A proactive attitude, energy, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
