About the Role We are excited to offer a full-time permanent position for a Community Support Worker within our Deaf Mental Health Service. This role encompasses a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday. In this position, you will cultivate strong, trusting relationships with tangata whaiora (clients), assisting them in developing and maintaining essential living skills, relationships, and daily activities. Your support will empower clients to achieve their goals and actively engage in their communities. A key requirement for this role is fluency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL). While verbal communication skills are not mandatory, they would be advantageous for coordinating appointments, advocating for clients in health settings, and addressing urgent situations. Although NZSL will be your primary mode of communication, having verbal skills will facilitate liaising with external services, ensuring safety, and promoting effective team communication.
