About the Role
We are seeking a Community Coordinator to join our team at the Greenlane Clinical Centre. In this role, you will focus on enhancing program outcomes and increasing participation among priority populations, specifically Māori, Pasifika people, and those living in high deprivation areas. Your responsibilities will include leading initiatives to improve participation through equitable outreach strategies, community engagement, and building connections with eligible individuals and key stakeholders.
You will adopt an equity-focused approach to your work and ensure that all efforts align with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Your contributions will support greater engagement with Te Toka Tumai communities, fostering trust and improving the impact of the Bowel Screening Programme.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Bowel Screening Programme is a complimentary service for eligible participants aged 60 to 74, aimed at saving lives through the early detection of bowel cancer. We are dedicated to ensuring equitable outcomes by enhancing participation among priority populations. Located at the Greenlane Clinical Centre, within the Te Toka Tumai district, our multi-faceted team is committed to achieving equitable health outcomes.
About You
In this hands-on role, effective communication with community groups and individual participants is essential. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to adapt and respond to community needs
- Completed or currently pursuing education in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Engagement, or a related field
- Strong connections within the Māori and Pasifika communities
- Commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes through culturally appropriate methods
