    About the Company At Spectrum Care, we are dedicated to providing support for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling and enriching lives. Our team is committed to making a positive impact in the community, and we take pride in the work we do. About the Role We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team in Central Auckland. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with an hourly pay ranging from $23.38 to $29.10. As a Community Support Worker, you will engage in a variety of tasks tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each individual. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal activities such as community participation, social interactions, work or educational pursuits, and daily living tasks. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience: - Empathy for the challenges faced by individuals striving for an ordinary life while living with a disability - Energy to engage actively with individuals who enjoy being on the go - The ability to remain calm and provide a calming presence in all situations - Resilience to help individuals maintain boundaries for their safety - Strong negotiation and explanation skills - Effective and supportive communication abilities with families, colleagues, and the individuals you support - A willingness to provide assistance and motivation with personal care and daily living skills We are particularly interested in candidates who have: - An interest in pursuing a Community Support Worker Level Three qualification or higher, which we can help you achieve while you work - Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, or behaviors that may be challenging (this is desirable but not essential) - Reliability, commitment, and a genuine passion for working with people - A full New Zealand driver's license - The ability to pass a New Zealand police check - Proficiency in using a computer, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email Benefits At Spectrum Care, we value our employees and strive to create a supportive work environment.
