About the Role
We are currently looking for a Team Coordinator to join our Ward Administration Team at Wellington Regional Hospital/Kenepuru Hospital. This full-time position is a fixed-term role that will extend until July 2026.
The Team Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting patient journeys from pre-admission through to discharge. This individual will take an organizational approach to ensure that all processes are standardized across wards. Working closely with the Team Leader, the Team Coordinator will oversee the team and ensure that ward administration staff deliver a customer-focused and efficient service to patients, their families, and clinical teams.
About the Team
Our Ward Administration Team is characterized by diversity, collaboration, and a strong work ethic. We take pride in focusing on our patients' journeys, recognizing that each day brings unique challenges and experiences.
The Ward Administration Team operates within the Patient Administration Service, which consists of six teams responsible for providing centralized administrative support to clinical areas throughout all stages from referral to discharge. The team handles various tasks, including greeting patients, validating patient information, managing the admission and discharge processes, and addressing general inquiries. Additionally, the team collaborates with clinical staff to ensure effective patient throughput and timely administrative support, making their role crucial to the daily operations of the ward.
About You
We are looking for candidates who can navigate ambiguity and adapt to an ever-changing environment while managing risk and uncertainty effectively. Supervisory experience is essential, alongside the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills are required, particularly the ability to engage with team members and the public, including those who may be distressed or upset. Candidates should have strong decision-making abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Effective time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines are also important.
Additionally, self-motivation and self-awareness are key attributes we are seeking. Experience working with diverse cultures, knowledge of the Privacy Act, and an understanding of confidentiality legislation are also beneficial.
